Add the Nexle AI Chatbot to Your WordPress Website
The Nexle Chatbot plugin puts your AI agent on every page of your WordPress site without touching code or theme files. Install the plugin, paste your Agent ID, and your chat widget is live — answering questions, capturing leads, and booking meetings while you work.
What You'll Need
- A Nexle account with a published agent (create one from your website URL in minutes)
- A WordPress site where you have admin access
- Your Agent ID — shown with the embed code in your agent's Website integration
How to Install the Nexle Chatbot on WordPress
From zip file to live chat widget in five steps — no theme edits, no FTP.
Download the Nexle Chatbot plugin
Grab the plugin zip (nexle-chatbot.zip) from your Nexle dashboard's Website integration. It's a standard WordPress plugin — nothing to configure before upload.
Upload it to WordPress
In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose nexle-chatbot.zip, click Install Now, then Activate.
Copy your Agent ID from Nexle
In your Nexle dashboard, open your agent's Integrations tab and select Website. Your Agent ID is shown alongside the embed code — copy it.
Paste the Agent ID into WordPress
In WordPress, go to Settings → Nexle Chatbot, paste your Agent ID, and save. The plugin adds the widget to every page automatically.
Register your site's URL in Nexle
Back in the Website integration in your Nexle dashboard, add your site's URL so the widget accepts requests from your domain — the same step as with a manual embed.
Test the widget
Open your website in a new tab. The chat bubble appears in the corner — send a test question and watch your agent answer with your business's knowledge.
Not on WordPress? Use the universal embed code
Any website can run Nexle with one script tag placed before the closing </body> tag. If you use a caching or optimisation plugin, exclude this script from concatenation — the loader needs its agent-id attribute and derives its origin from its own src.
<script src="https://app.nexle.com.au/agent-widget.js" agent-id="YOUR_AGENT_ID"></script>Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the WordPress integration.
Will the chatbot slow down my WordPress site?
No. The plugin adds one small loader script at the end of your page, so your content renders first and the widget loads alongside it.
Do I need to edit my theme or use FTP?
No. The plugin is installed entirely from the WordPress admin, and the only setting is your Agent ID under Settings → Nexle Chatbot.
Does it work with page builders like Elementor or Divi?
Yes. The widget is injected in the site footer independently of your theme or builder, so it works with any WordPress setup.
Can I change which agent the widget shows?
Yes. Update the Agent ID in Settings → Nexle Chatbot at any time and the widget switches to the new agent — styling and behaviour stay managed from your Nexle dashboard.
What if the widget doesn't appear?
Check three things: the plugin is activated, your Agent ID is saved correctly, and your site's URL is registered in the Website integration in your Nexle dashboard. If you run a caching plugin, clear its cache and exclude the Nexle script from optimisation.
